This is an L & M Highland hand made Forage Cap used by Artillery lower ranks. This version features a yellow ribbon, yellow top button and dark blue wool body. The chin strap is made from sturdy patent leather and has hidden adjuster hooks mounted in the lining of the cap. The Officer version differs by utilizing a gold lace band instead of the yellow ribbon.
